The Dancing Astrophysicist

In an effort to keep myself on the night schedule (as I'll be observing again in a couple of nights), I meandered over to see Ginny at her telescope. It happens to be full moon at this time (Mars is looking quite nice right next to it!) and it was really kind of odd that I could see perfectly well enough to not have my flashlight on at all.
I think this picture captures it the best:

Eerie moonglow!!

I'm going to bed now :)

This is what it could be like every day and I'd be happy :)
In the shade it was slightly cool, not too bad, but then in the sun it was warm and amazing :) The sky was beautifully clear and a gorgeous shade of blue. The mountains were slightly fuzzy off in the distance looking all desert-y. The telescopes all looked gleaming white and you couldn't see if they needed painting. The night isn't bitterly cold so it is all good :)

I'm not going stir crazy yet, but it's been really nice to have people I know and can hang out with up here :) Bill and Brian leave in the morning though so it will be just Ginny and I (which isn't bad!).

However, being in the control room of the telescope for THIRTEEN hours out of the day sure cramps one's style because there is little time to do anything but sleep and eat.
I get tomorrow and the next night off :) I think I'll meander down to Tucson for part of it :)
