More Band Ramblings
Just got home from the Star Bar again... They had 2 nights in a row of rockabilly!!! That just doesn't happen anymore. The reason for it is that the Heavy Rebel Weekender is going on in Winston-Salem and bands are in the area so they decided to come to Atlanta.

Tonight was a good headliner and one decent opener and another crappy opener.

The decent opener (Stratocruiser) I didn't see cuz I didn't want to, I'm just passing along hearsay that they were decent.

The crappy opener was The Shazam. I actually stood outside for the whole set and could hear them just fine - they had way too many speakers for the space. Good lord.

The headliner: Three Blue Teardrops
Based in Chicago, they've apparently played in my old stomping grounds of Minneapolis, specifically at Lee's Liquor Lounge, my primary haunt!! Anyways, they're only a 3 piece outfit - lead guitar, upright bass and drums. They were really good - they can rock the house! Kinda makes you wonder why people need more... But then again, how could one get acoustic guitar or pedal steel or fiddle in there then ;)
Didn't get to dance as much as last night - these guys had a tempo just a little too fast for comfort much of the time.
I'd go see them again :)
